Patricia Urquiola designer unsurpassed, world renowned for the brilliance of his worksPatricia Urquiola designer and interior designer par excellence. Born in Oviedo (Spain) and currently lives and works in Milan. He studied at the school of Arquetectuta of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Polytechnic of Milan where he graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. His professional career began in Italy, influenced by imposing figures of design as Bruno Munari, the intellectual founder of the school of Milan father.

In 2001 he opened his own studio in Milan, devoted to product design, architecture, installations and concept creation. He has completed designs for renowned companies such as Agape, Alessi, Artelano, Axor, B & B Italia Bart Design, Bisazza, Bosa, Chevalier Edition, De Padova, De Vecchi, Driade, Emu, Fasem, Flos, Foscarini, Gallotti & Radice, Gandia Blasco, Kartell, Kettal, Liv'it, LG, Peter Mabeo, MDF Italia, Molteni, Moroso, Mutina, Olivari, Paola Lenti, Rosenthal, San Lorenzo, Tronconi, Viccarbe.

Some of their products are permanently exposed at the MoMA in New York and in other museums scattered around the world.

A Retrieved awards as Designer of the Year by Wallpaper and Elle Deco magazines, and Designer of the Decade 2000-2010 by the German magazines Home and Häuser. Among others, has received the Red Dot Award and the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Awards. His work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions worldwide.

His recent projects include the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona, the W Resort & Spa in Vieques (Puerto Rico), the boutiques of Gianvito Rossi, the showroom of Flos and Moroso in London and the interiors of the fashion fair Pitti Uomo 2010 (Hall Spadolini) in Florence. He exhibited a work of marble art fair Art 41 Basel.

He has designed a project for BMW and Kvadrat and various products for the Salone del Mobile 2010. He is also working on the scenery of the opera "L'incoronazione di Poppea" by Monteverdi in Oviedo. In September 2010, will present a specific work in marble Budri in Marmomacc (Verona) fair and present a collection of ceramic tiles for Mutina in Cersaie (Bologna). A solo exhibition of his work will be shown in Feria Habitat Valencia.
